Welcome to Claire’s Team!

Claire has been diagnosed with a very rare type of bone marrow failure.  Essentially, Claire’s bone marrow does not produce Red Blood Cells and her immune system is at risk.  Because of the severity of her condition, Claire recently was the recipient of a bone marrow transplant which involved extensive chemotherapy and months of hospitalization for both Claire and consequently, Debbie.  The hope is that by replacing her Bone Marrow with healthy marrow from Sam (Claire’s older brother) she will begin to produce her own red blood cells.  Since Sam is a perfect genetic match, our chances of success are high, however, at 2 years old, Claire is very young to be going through this long and difficult process.
